Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Earns ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Export Trophy’

Bangladesh is set to honor 66 distinguished exporters with the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Export Trophy’ for their outstanding performance in earning foreign currency during the fiscal year 2017-18. Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd, the leading exporter for that fiscal year, will be presented with the gold medal, while ACS Textile (Bangladesh) Ltd will receive the silver medal in the categories of home and specialized textile products.

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce announced the trophy through a gazette notification, marking the first time this prestigious award has been introduced. Its primary aim is to motivate exporters to enhance their efforts in exporting a wider range of goods and services. These awards are presented in three categories: gold, silver, and bronze.

The Ministry clarified that the selection of trophy recipients for the 2017-18 fiscal year was finalized last year but remained undisclosed due to the ongoing pandemic.
